Origins & Purpose
MSATT began in 1994 as YSATT (Yacht Services Association of Trinidad & Tobago), founded by boatyards and marinas on the Western Peninsula. It was later renamed MSATT (Marine Services Association of Trinidad & Tobago) to represent the wider marine services industry. As a non‑profit umbrella body, MSATT ensures the proper and controlled growth of the yacht and marine service sector while working closely with Immigration, Customs, and the Coast Guard.
Role in the Industry
With Trinidad’s rapidly expanding yacht service industry, MSATT has become instrumental in promoting the interests of marine stakeholders, enhancing facilities, and advancing education for those engaged in the sector. The association serves as a central voice for the industry, safeguarding its well‑being and supporting sustainable development.MSATT moved to a central location to better cater the yacht tourist.
Services & Contributions
From its central location, MSATT provides tourist information such as maps, brochures, and local guidance, while lobbying and liaising with government agencies to improve entry and clearance procedures. It funds Customs and Immigration offices at CrewsInn, maintains employment resources, and promotes environmental awareness—ensuring smooth operations for yacht tourism and long‑term sustainability for Trinidad & Tobago’s marine community.
